Intake and Output
I&O stands for intake and output. This refers to the body’s ability to take in fluids and expel them. The body needs a certain amount of fluid each day to function properly, and this fluid must be replenished through intake. Output includes all the fluid that is expelled from the body, such as urine, sweat, and breath. Measuring I&O is a way to assess how well the body is functioning and whether or not it is getting the proper amount of fluid.
