Ear, Nose, and Throat
In medical terms, ENT stands for ear, nose, and throat. This refers to the specialty of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting these parts of the body. ENT doctors are also sometimes referred to as otolaryngologists.
Ear conditions that an ENT doctor may treat include hearing loss, balance disorders, and dizziness. Nose and sinus conditions that may be treated by an ENT include allergies, nasal obstruction, and sinus infections. Throat conditions that an ENT doctor can treat include voice disorders, swallowing disorders, and laryngitis.
